Gary Neville Heated argument with Wright on ITV about England penalty

WHAT HAPPENED?

While Wright described Dumfries as “reckless”, Neville called it an “absolutely disgraceful decision

“As a defender, I think it’s an absolutely disgraceful decision,” Neville said at half-time. “To have that given against me as a penalty at any time, let alone in such an important game. He just goes in naturally to try and block the shot. It’s not a penalty for me. It’s nowhere near a penalty. I have to say, there weren’t many England players asking for it either.”

When Wright called Dumfries “reckless”, Neville replied: “Reckless? That is not reckless.”

Kane’s penalty levelled the scores after Xavi Simons’ exquisite opener, which led to fans on social media criticising Declan Rice. The winners of the semi-final will meet Spain in the Euros final.
